After years of dealing with athletic injuries, first as a young gymnast, runner, tennis, lacrosse and soccer player and later as a massage therapist and fitness trainer, I encountered a therapy in 2005 that changed my life. This was the work of Thomas Bowen, a quiet revolutionary in the world of healing whose practices were well-known in his native Australia but had received little recognition in the US.

With years of practicing and teaching both energetic healing and direct manipulation techniques, I was thrilled to discover something dynamically more effective; a way of listening to and communicating with the body that, with extremely small and gentle movements, enlists the intelligence of tissues and cells to make the body whole again, reducing pain and inflammation and restoring function at high velocity.  Now, as a certified instructor for the American Bowen Academy and the Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia, I train practitioners from Hawaii to Reno with a focus on healthcare providers.

 

Although people come to me with a spectrum of physical and complex issues, my primary focus is on aiding athletes, dancers and musicians return to or exceed their performance best. Performers who experience it are not just passive recipients. They learn to feel into, listen to and respond to their bodies in ways that allow them to excel and move beyond previous limitations.
